Each player or team stands behind their respective ladder and takes turns throwing their bolas at the opposite ladder's rungs trying to get as many points as possible. Here’s how ladder ball works:
1) To begin playing, determine who goes first by flipping a coin.
2) Each player throws three bolas per turn trying to wrap them around any rung on the opposite ladder.
3) If both players or teams have thrown all three bolas in one round then scores are counted.
4) Bolas that land on top of any rung score 3 points whereas those wrapped around any middle rung score 2 points.
5) Bolas wrapped around bottom rungs score only 1 point.
6) Players cannot touch their opponent’s bola until they have finished scoring in case if they fall off while counting scores.
7) The first player or team who reaches exactly 21 points wins! However, if a player goes over 21 points, their score resets back to 13.
Tips for Winning:
1) Practice your throwing technique - The key to winning ladder ball is accuracy. So, you need to practice your throwing technique to improve.
2) Aim for the top rung - The top rung scores the most points, so aim for it as much as possible.
3) Block your opponent's throws by landing your bolas on top of theirs.
4) Play defense when necessary- If you are in a position where your opponent is close to winning then try blocking them by throwing bolas on their side of the ladder or in front of them so that they cannot get their shots.
5) Stay patient and don't rush- Ladder ball can be played at an easy pace and doesn't require any quick movements. So take your time and aim carefully.
